January 24, 2008

Hi,

Chetana gave out socks, Jagadeep gave either gloves or a hat or bungi chords + snack bars to everyone.

There were about 140 people. All got new socks (some recieved 2 pairs, some hats etc.) It was raining & cold so they seemed happy to have a treat.

thanks to all of you to help make all of this possible!

Mother’s Kitchen, in partnership with HOPE (Helping Other People Eat) provides hands-on support to our homeless brothers and sisters in Los Angeles. Our shared purpose is to nurture those in need and to help restore hope, empowerment and determination in their lives.

Free meal service is our vital contact point with the homeless. Each Wednesday and Thursday, we cook and/or serve a nutritious vegetarian meal for 200 people in Santa Monica. Our meal consists of a hot main dish, salad,  sandwiches, dessert, fresh fruit and a beverage.

The meals are served at a facility in Santa Monica located at: Mother’s Kitchen NEW Meal Service Address:  503 Olympic Boulevard, Santa Monica 90401.

Please read about how to help sponsor, support and grow Mother’s Kitchen through cooking, serving, gathering or contributing resources. For more information, please contact Elizabeth or call 213-479-4026.
